hi! im a student going on to study animation at uni, and i came across you videos and wow i just wanted to say i love your work. there amazing, and i hope to one day be as good as you. the storylines are really interesting and i like how you use slightly more abstract ways to show them. thanks for the inspiration.

Beste mevrouw en mijnheer, In de Volkskrant het artikel gelezen over uw brand. Diep onder de indruk was ik, met name door uw positieve reactie na zo'n grote schrik! Alles kwijt en dan kunnen zeggen: het had erger kunnen zijn. Wijzelf, hebben op dezelfde dag van uw brand, een brand gehad in onze boerderij(200 jaar oud) in Frankrijk. De pijp van de haard is gaan schuiven in de loop der tijd en heeft gemaakt dat de balken aan het plafond zijn gaan smeulen. Onze Franse buurman maakt als we komen op die dag onze 2 houtkachels aan. Bij die in de woonkamer ging het dus fout. 5 brandweerkorpsen zijn uitgerukt, zij dachten aan een uitslaande brand. Gelukkig was het dat niet. Er was (bij onze aankomst 's avonds) grote ravage in de woonkamer, het dak opengebroken op 2 plaatsen, door de grote rookontwikkeling stonden alle ramen en deuren open, je denkt dat het nooit meer goed komt. Nu, een paar maanden later is alles gerepareerd en lijkt het leed geleden. Wat een schrik ook voor ons toen we aan kwamen rijden en door de kale bomen de zwaailichten zagen. Dat kon alleen maar bij ons huis zijn. Er staat er daar nl. maar 1. Voor u beiden, alles kwijt, prijzen, spullen waaraan je gehecht bent. Onvoorstelbaar is het wat dat toch met je moet doen en dan dat relativerende van u in het artikel. Grote bewondering hebben mijn man en ik voor u. Het liefste vond ik dat u zei dat u het zo romantisch vond om weer dicht tegen uw vrouw aan te liggen in de kleine caravan. Sterkte met de wederopbouw en de verwerking. bijna 30 jaar geleden heeft u 'de picknick van Donald Duck' met Knabbel en Babbel gemaakt. Tijd vliegt! Ik geniet dagelijks van uw originele tekeningen. Hoe ik hier nu op kom? Ik heb net dit week-end een orgineel boekje via internet gevonden waarin de afgedrukte versie ervan is gedrukt. Na zo veel jaren zoeken, eindelijk gevonden op een eenvoudige nummer die u op de tekeningen heeft geschreven: .....H83128...... En mijn fantasie nam toen zijn zijn loop. Via Internet kwam ik vandaag daarom pas op uw afschuwlijk bericht dat u alles uw huis en haard en zekerheid totaal kwijt bent geraakt! Ik hoop dat er nog veel originele stukken van u blijven door bestaan! Ze zijn zo leuk, zo grappig, en zo tijdloos! U heeft dan wel alles verloren, maar uw geest; energie, en levens vreugde blijft bij mij in de woonkamer door bloeien! Dat plezier wil ik met u delen. En ik durf te stellen bij vele Nederlanders uit de jaren met Donald Duck, ook al ben ik nu zelf veel te oud ze te lezen, kijk ik met veel plezier naar uw originele platen! Beste meneer en mevrouw Ring, Gisteren tijdens een telefoongesprek met mijn moeder en stiefvader kreeg ik te horen dat de boerderij in Overlangel volledig is afgebrand. Bij het zien van de beelden kwamen er wat herinneringen boven. Mijn stiefvader was voor u bewoner van deze mooie boerderij. Mijn favoriete kamertje was de opkamer in de gang achter de keuken. Ook was de deel een heerlijke plek om te vertoeven. Ik wil u beiden heel veel sterkte wensen en ik hoop dat u terug kunt keren op deze mooie plek aan de dijk. Met vriendelijke groet, Nina

Hello Borge, We worked together in 1991 at Amblimation Studios in Acton London. The film was `We`re Back`. I have often thought about you over the years and wondered how you are. I hope you are well. I am the Irish guy who worked on Line Test on We`re Back. I finished working in the Animation industry back in 1995, the last film I worked on was Felidae. I now live back in my native Ireland and I am a full time musician. I still have the video made by Tim Davies at Amblin with everyone, including you , saying goodbye to me when I left there in Dec` 1991. My best wishes to you, Clive.

Lieve Børge Marret Jansen hier, je oude Niaf leerling uit de jaren 1997 t/m 1999. Gisteren je films gezien in het rembrand theater, samen met mijn man, die bij sommige moest huilen. Toen heb ik je na de voorstelling bij de ingang van de wc begroet en 3 kussen gegeven. Ik denk dat je niet meer wist wie ik was. had mijn naam ook niet gezegd. Stom, maar goed. Ik wilde je toch nog even zeggen hoezeer je mij inspireert met je werk en levenshouding. Ik denk aan je terug, toen je mijn begeleider was op het niaf, als een man die veel grapjes maakte, en een beetje zat te pingelen op mijn gitaar in mijn werkkamer, tijdens het vertellen. Hej Børge, Jeg er en pianist og komponist på 23 og har ingen erfaring med film mediet. Jeg kom pludselig på en genial ide til en tegnefilm. Det har altid været en håbløs vision for mig, at få den klassiske musik ud til almindelige mennesker. Det danske skolesystem bidrager jo ikke ligefrem på det kreative område... Kunne man ikke lave en tegnefilm over en opera i sin fulde længde? Jeg har ingen ide om, hvor lang tid det tager at lave tegnefilm med moderne computerteknik etc. Men kunne man forestille sig noget så storstilet som en 5 timer lang tegnefilm over Prokofievs opera ´Krig og Fred´? Det kunne også være en anden opera, der er jo nok at tage fat på! Der er lavet film over operaer, men noget siger mig, at mange mennesker vil have lettere ved at omstille sig til en tegnefilm end en...hvad hedder det..."levende" film med sunget replikker. Der er jo ingen der synger i moderne film. Det kan man derimod i det tegnede univers. Det er bare et forslag. Jeg fandt frem til dig Børge, da du er kendt som tegnefilmskaber, og da du selv er musiker, tænkte jeg, at måske ville du være den helt rigtige mand. Mvh Mikkel

It's always nice to find other artists with February birthdays (mine was on the 6th). I attended a school for animation almost a decade ago, and saw your short 'Anna & Bella in a collection on VHS. Since then, it's been one of the animated shorts that pops into my head from time to time. Just last week, my cousin Katie got married (sadly, I was not able to attend her wedding), and your short reminded me of her and her older sister Kelly. I could see them one day like Anna & Bella, sitting around looking through old photographs together. Unfortunately, I lost my way art-wise a few year ago, and have been trying to get myself back into the swing of things. However, it's quite an ordeal to get myself off the ground and relearn some skills. Currently, I'm studying Flash animation, and hope this is the springboard to me taking a first step back into something that once brought me pleasure. Hope you are doing well, and that I have not rambled incoherently.

Borge and I became friends during his time working for Amblimation in Acton/London, I loved coming by his Desk and chat, and often he would play the base for us. One fine Day the studio sent a few of us to the West-end to see a performance of "Cats" for a project to studio wanted to make. At the moment "Old Deuteronomy" the Old "Holy" leader of the "Cats" enters the stage through an alley way right besides our seats. Rob Stevenhagen leans over to me and says" he looks just like Borge Ring" -- the two of us burst out into uncontrollable loud laughter right during the most reverent moment of the show, right next to the Actor in qestion. Børge Ring is one of the most significant and poly-talented artists in Denmark - in really many ways... Music, films, etc. I'm a guitar player and I owe him a lot! But I'll never be as good as he is. Happy B-day!!!

I watched Anna and Bella recently. Excellent! I bought it from Ron Diamond. He was selling sets of short award winning animated films at an event at Chapman University film school here in Orange, California. Hope you get to live another 90 years. My son is in bioengineering at U.C. Berkeley. Says that people could live to be 120. All kind of technical. I was in the Disney Character Animation Program when it first started at Calarts 35 and a half years ago. My best! Jim Peterson
